National Treasures badge
We recently made some badges for the National Treasures roadshows. National Treasures is an archive project which includes a new RTE TV show focussing on"the everyday objects that explore the history of the island of Ireland over the past 100 years."
The project includes an online archive and will culminate in an exhibition at the National Museum of Ireland.

58mm printed badges for O Boland
We recently printed these 58mm badges for the Galway band O Boland. Badges are a great merch item for bands to sell at gigs.
BadgeMaking.ie didn't produce these badges for the TypeCon 2016 conference in Seattle but they caught my eye on the Identity Designed blog. It's a very nice example of badges being used as a striking element within a visual identity.
Badges have always been a very popular merch item for bands and musicians to sell at gigs. We've printed badges for a range of Irish musicians including these 25mm badges recently made for the Galway based band Majestic Bears who describe themselves as a 'Grizzly Irish Folk Band'.

58mm Printed Awards Badges
We made these badges for a sports club who were having their annual awards ceremony. The badges are 58mm in diameter and each features the club's logo with name of the award and year. Badges are great as a cheaper alternative to medals if you are on a budget.
We can also produce printed digital medals which look just like the badges shown above but come on a ribbon worn around the next. Medals are a special order item and turnaround time may be longer than it is for badges
38mm Printed Badges for Moobles and Toobles for the Playtime Trade Show in Paris
Badges make the ideal giveaway item to promote your brand at trade shows. They're an high visibility item that will be seen by many people throughout the trade show and beyond as they are worn by visitors to your booth.
Pictured here are some cute 38mm badges we printed for the Irish baby clothing business Moobles and Toobles. They took the badges to the Playtime Trade show in Paris where they were promoting their screenprinted organic fairtrade cotton baby clothes.

Irish LGBTQ Badges
We recently produced a set of three Irish LGBTQ badges which we sold in the lead up to Dublin LGBTQ Pride to raise funds for GLEN.
We sold 163 badge sets to 86 customers in 4 countries. The largest amount ordered by a single customer was 20 sets of badges!
The campaign has come to an end and we're delighted to announce we raised at total of €719 for the charity. Thanks to all who contributed and we hope you've enjoyed the Pride weekend.

38mm badges
We often print badges for various clubs, teams, and societies of different kinds. There a great giveaway item for members and a way to spread awareness in the community or fundraise. Pictured above are some badges we printed fro Galway MTB mountain biking club.
Dublin Pride is coming up from 22nd- 26th June 2016. So we've decided to make these badges available for a short time with all profits being donated to GLEN – Gay + Lesbian Equality Network. The badges are 58mm in diameter and come as a set of three for €6 including postage within Ireland.
Update: The badges are no longer available. Thanks to everyone who purchased. I now have some maths to do and will shortly be posting details of how much was raised.
A printed sticker on the back of a magnet
We can now provide custom printed badges and magnets with stickers on the back. This is a great way to add a logo or to some additional text like a website URL or contact details which you may not want on the front of your badge.
The stickers are 24mm or 12mm in diameter and can be printed in black only. The image above shows a 24mm sticker on the back of a 38mm magnet.
Communion badge
We recently made some badges for a communion and received a lovely 5 star review on our Facebook page.

Printed badges with metallic finish
New silver finish badges. The artwork is printed on a clear material and the steel badge component underneath is allowed to show through giving a silver effect.
Black artwork only is recommended for silver badges. No other metallic finished are available.

During the last week I’ve noticed people have been wearing their Yes Equality badges from the Marriage Equality referendum last year to coincide with the anniversary of the referendum which is today.
BadgeMaking.ie didn’t make those badges (there were 500,000 produced so it kept someone very busy) but they are a great example of badges being used to spread a message, promote a cause and make a difference. Speaking in May 2015 Yes Equality campaign co-director Brian Sheehan said:
“Over the course of these past weeks the Yes Equality badge has been transformed from a modest campaign tool to a national phenomenon – an extraordinary public statement of voters’ commitment to equality for Ireland’s Lesbian and Gay citizens. Now fully half a million of these badges are being proudly worn by Irish citizens”
Badges are highly visible and the person wearing the badge potentially becomes not just someone who spreads your message but who also someone who passes on badges to others. Badges can enable your ideas to "go viral" without even turning on a computer (except to of course). The Daily Edge quoted campaigner Victoria Curtis:
“I’ve given 100+ off my lapel alone. Ran down the street with the one on my jacket after a lady one night.”
Repeal the 8th badges for The Hunreal Issues
Recently a number of badge designs have started to be distributed by groups calling for the repeal of the 8th amendment. We these repeal the 8th badges for TheHunrealissues.com They will be available through their website soon or from Tropical Popical nail bar on South William Street in Dublin.
Badges make great rewards for crowdfunding projects on platforms like FundIt or Kickstarter. We recently made some badges for Sonar Theatre. They are using them as rewards for backers in their Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for GHOSTS a dance piece for the Galway Theatre Festival's Dance Theatre Weekend.
38mm and 58mm badges for Airbnb
We recently made some badges for Airbnb who have opened a second office in Dublin at Grand Canal Dock. The larger badges have not got the usual mylar covers on the front to enable guests at the event to personalise their badge by writing in their details.
The badges were used at a launch event called Airbnb Oscailte 2016. This is the first we've seen our badges modelled by a dog. Looks like it was a fun event

We recently made these great badges for the documentary Mattress Men which tells the story of how a furniture salesman in his sixties became the legend that is Mattress Mick. The badges are 58mm and turned out really well.
Mattress Men has it's premier at the Hot Docs festival in Toronto this Tuesday 3rd May 2016 and earlier today Mattress Man and director Colm Quinn appeared on Toronto's News Channel CP24 to talk about the documentary. If you look closely at the image below you'll see Colm was wearing one of the badges. Maybe we should make "as seen on TV" our new slogan.
